I thought I would put down some reasons joining the society may help.

1 - You have your surname interests printed for all our members to see. These include people all over the World.

2 - You can ask for help on our Help Wanted page. You never know who will reply or what you may find out.

3 - I offer free research in the local reference library to our members. This includes local directories, electoral registers, local newspapers.

4 - You will receive 4 issue of the society magazine, The Sandgrounder, which always have interesting articles.

I'm sure other members will have more to add

You get to come to the monthly meetings and meet other members.

At one meeting we had a talk from someone who used to live in Lincolnshire and one of the visitors also lived there in the next village...it was great!

At another meeting the speaker mentioned old schoolfriends and a bridesmaid, now sadly out of touch...she turned out to be the grandmother of a visitor...there were tears of joy that evening!

You only have to read the posts on the forum to see that we are often related, albeit way back...

Come on join us...you know it makes sense!

Another reason to join is to keep this website and forum active. Everytime someone gets help...it's thanks to all our members.
